There is a young Coopers Hawk that prowls my yard, tries to snatch birds from the feeder and sometimes gets desperate and climbs into the shrubs outside the window where the Juncos rest in an attempt to snag one. I feel bad for the guy, he seems young and inexperienced, and I know those Juncos laugh at him.
This feather is carved Poplar, Aspen and Black Walnut and set in to a thick slab of Honey Locust. Honey Locust has a nice golden-pink color and a prominent grain pattern. This board measures 11.5" by 13" and is finished with food grade walnut oil and beeswax. All proceeds go to A Place Called Hope in Killingworth, CT so they can rescue and rehabilitate other poor, sad coopers hawks and so many others.
